p1
February 21,2012 •
City of Everett _ __. . . __......
Allan Giffen-Planning and Community Development Director
Dave Koenig—Planning Department
Bob Larsen—Planning Department
Forgotten Creek area rezone:
In order to respond as a neighborhood,we would need a 60 day window to accomplish
a vote.Since this is not to be,with the City Council meeting scheduled for March 6th,
2012, on Feb.20th 2012 the Port Gardner Neighborhood AssociatiorrExecutive team met
to discuss this pending rezone.
This team recommends that a new"Open Space"zoning category be created. The map
you sent suggests 3 rezone parcels. We recommend that section labeled 2 be put into
Open.Space category and that sections 1 and 3 become R-3 category. As specified,
a water treatment facility is already planned for the base of Forgotten Creek trail_ We
understand that easements are in place.
It does not make sense to us that property that is never planned to be used as R-1,R-3 or
M-2 be zoned for those uses.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cheryl Durham
Port Gardner Neighborhood Association,Chairperson
•8
157
