The Ordinance established a six- month moratorium under RCW 36.70A.390, on the acceptance of applications or issuance of permits for new uses or buildings in order for the City to conduct a re-use planning process for the Central Waterfront Planning Area. • The moratorium will expire August 15,2012,unless extended by the City Council. The City is making progress on the re-use plan,but will not complete the process prior to the expiration of the moratorium. State law allows for an extension of the moratorium for an additional six months. Staff will provide a briefing on the status of the planning process. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council):Approve the Ordinance amending the Moratorium relating to the Central Waterfront Planning Area by extending the Moratorium an additional six months, amending Ordinance No. 3260-12. • 203
