Other Commissioners attending: Commissioner Olivers, <br /> Commissioner Chase, Commissioner Sand, Commissioner Adams, and Commissioner Jordison. <br /> Commissioner(s) Absent from Roll Call: Commissioner Murphy and Commissioner Alder <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> Motion: Commissioner Olivers made a motion to approve the February 21, 2012 meeting minutes. <br /> Commissioner Sand seconded the motion. <br /> 6:31:10 PM Commissioner Murphy arrived. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Jordison,yes; Commissioner Adams,yes; Commissioner Sand,yes; Commissioner <br /> Chase, abstain; Commissioner Olivers,yes; Commissioner Murphy,yes; and Chair Sosin,yes. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> 6:31:19 PM <br /> Item 1: Presentation by the Parks Department regarding Planning Commission mem. ip on the <br /> Everett Tree Committee <br /> John Peterson,Assistant Director, Everett Parks and Recreation,stated tha - would like to know if a <br /> Planning Commissioner would be interested in volunteering for the Tr-- ommittee which is a <br /> subcommittee of the Board of Parks Commissioners. If Planning C. mission recommends one of its <br /> members to the Mayor and if the Mayor concurs,the appoint „ t is confirmed by City Council which <br /> fills an unexpired six year term through the end of 2017. ' Council passed Ordinance 1948-93 in June <br /> of 1993. The Ordinance addressed management of tr-- on City owned property and rights-of-way and <br /> established the Tree Committee as a subcommitte- • the Board of Park Commissioners. Parks and <br /> Public Works staff supports the work of the co ittee. The primary responsibilities of the Tree <br /> Committee is implementation of the publi ee policy, the committee advises the Planning Commission <br /> regarding urban forestry standards, a - o the extent practical, a representative from the Planning <br /> Commission is desired for the co ttee but not required. The Tree Committee meets on the 3rd <br /> Thursday of each month fro .' p.m. at Forest Park and meets approximately 9 months of the year. <br /> 6:33:05 PM <br /> Chair Sosin asked ' .ny of the Commissioners had any questions. There was no response. Chair Sosin <br /> asked if there -re any volunteers. Commissioner Adams mentioned that he would have a conflict with <br /> a non-pro ' •oard that he sits on. Chair Sosin asked if a Commissioner was interested, could they <br /> cont.• e Parks Department. Mr. Peterson responded yes and that the Commissioner should speak to <br /> P .
