on-street parking. The results of that analysis are not co plete; however,the preliminary indication is that it would not create an undesirable impact on the o street parking. If the Commission initiates consideration of the requested amendment, it is not a •mmitment to support the amendment. The purpose is to begin a process where the City can get t - amendment to a public notification and review of property owners in the area. In the meantime,the City can complete the analysis, and begin review of redevelopment potential along that part of the c• ridor. With the adoption of the Downtown Plan in 2006,the City removed the off street parking requi -ments for non-residential uses which encouraged the reuse of buildings in downtown core. Commissioner Sand seconded the motion. Chair Sosin asked if there were any ques ons. Commissioner Sand asked if there were any specific projects that initiated the request. Mr. .iffen responded no, and that Council President Gipson thought it would be helpful for business owner. Commissioner Sand stated that the s",e of the project and the intensity of the change would have some affect as to the difficulty of releasing the requirement for off-street parking. Mr.Giffen stated that he is relying on the City's Engineering D:'•artment to complete their analysis before Commission is asked to make any recommendation on the amendment,that analysis should be completed. 7:35:22 PM Chair Sosin asked why the stud area was limited. Mr. Giffen responded that the request was to keep the amendment centered on ewitt Avenue. Mr. Giffen referred to the graphic on the back of the memo to show what area is •-ing studied by the Engineering Department.
