If the Commission initiates consideration of the requested amendment, it is not a commit r -nt to support the amendment. The purpose is to begin a process where the City can get the amen- ment to a public notification and review of property owners in the area. In the meantime,the City ca _ complete the analysis, and begin review of redevelopment potential along that part of the corridor. ith the adoption of the Downtown Plan in 2006,the City removed the off street parking requirements or non-residential uses which encouraged the reuse of buildings in downtown core. Mr. Giffen -sponded no, and that Council President Gipson thought it would be helpful for business owners. Commissioner Sand stated that the size of , e project and the intensity of the change would have some affect as to the difficulty of releasing the r quirement for off-street parking.
