There was no response. <br /> Chair Sosin asked if there was any objection from the audience to any of the Commissioners <br /> participation on the docket items. There was no response. <br /> 6:35:55 PM <br /> Bob Larsen, City staff, distributed a comment letter from Sno Amish County regarding the Smith Island <br /> expansion. He also distributed a handout of the powerpoint 'resentation with a corrected slide. <br /> Mr. Larsen stated that the Firehouse Comprehensive Plan mendment and rezone is located at 12011 <br /> 19th Ave SW. The request is to amend the Comprehensi - Plan designation from 1.6 (Multiple Family) <br /> to 4.1 (Neighborhood Business) and rezone from R-3 ( Itiple Family)to B-1 (Neighborhood Business). <br /> The objective is to convert the allowed use to office a • retail. The previous use was a fire station for <br /> Fire District#1. He presented a graphic of the site. r. Larsen asked if there were any questions. <br /> • <br /> 6:37:49 PM <br /> Commissioner Murphy asked if the structure had .Iways been used as a fire house. Mr. Larsen <br /> responded yes. Angela Larsh, Urban Concepts, i.09 Interlake Avenue North#148, Seattle,WA 98103, <br /> stated that she was representing the Applicant •ich Metzner who is the property owner. Mr. Metzner <br /> purchased the property from Fire District#1 en the property was sold as surplus. The property has <br /> been underutilized since the purchase. She f It that the property was uniquely located to serve the <br /> community as a neighborhood business. Th B-1 zone is preferred because it does provide a range of <br /> uses which is appropriate for the scale and ocation of the property. The zoning would also allow a <br /> residential component if they chose to do: mixed use project.
