1 <br /> Public Involved in Process, continued... <br /> • Outreach via newspapers,the 'network of networks:' an email marketing strategy, public access <br /> television, city websites, neighborhood flyers, and public transportation advertisements; <br /> • A survey distributed through the 'network of networks' and posted online on the City website in <br /> order to elicit input into the planning process by those citizens not reached by other events and <br /> which received 166 responses; <br /> • An interactive Open House event to display the final drafts of the strategies and action items. <br /> • The City of Everett convened the Everett Hazards Mitigation Steering Committee in order to be- <br /> gin the process of choosing and ranking hazards for inclusion in the Hazard Identification and <br /> Vulnerabilities Assessment (HIVA). Sixty-two stakeholders were invited to serve on the Steering <br /> Committee representing a variety of interests in local businesses, organizations, and govern- <br /> ment. The Steering Committee was the primary body in charge of working with the Project <br /> Team to identify risks and design strategies and action items. Four meetings were held between <br /> December, 2010 and May, 2011, including one webinar.
