There are 8 categories of concern, each with multiple action items.
One completely new category was added in this update:Economic Mitigation. When there is a natural disaster, a
separate and equally devastating economic disaster can occur. Historically, businesses have been ill-equipped to
handle these types of post-disaster changes. While not required by FEMA,the Office of Emergency Management
took the first steps in understanding the economic vulnerabilities faced in Everett, as well as planning for the next
steps--by including an Economic Mitigation Plan Annex. This Annex is intended to determine the assets and
vulnerabilities of the Everett economy and suggest items specifically designed to mitigate economic damages that
a disaster could cause.
