The proposal is to add a second story to the <br /> existing one-story house. The applicant requested a deviation to reduce the front setback by <br /> 3 feet. The deviation would allow the proposed second story to extend over the existing <br /> front porch,which extends 1.5 feet into the front setback, and to be supported by the <br /> foundation of the house which is under the front edge of the porch. The Historical Commission <br /> accepted the Findings, Conclusions and Recommendation in the Staff Report dated July 25, <br /> 2014, and recommended approval of the project as submitted, allowing the three-foot deviation <br /> from the front setback described above, with the following conditions: <br /> 1. The Applicant must obtain necessary building permits from the City of Everett's <br /> Building Department. <br /> Decision: The Planning Director hereby approves the project as shown on the plans submitted <br /> to the Planning Department, including the requested three-foot deviation from the front setback <br /> standard, as consistent with the Neighborhood Conservation Guidelines and Historic Overlay <br /> Standards, subject to the condition recommended by the Historical Commission as detailed <br /> above. <br /> Right to Appeal: This decision may be appealed. Any such appeal must be filed within <br /> fourteen (14) calendar days of the date specified below. Appeal forms are available from the <br /> Planning Department and must be submitted along with the required filing fee.
