It <br /> appears the primary focus of site work is on the dredging and upland excavation. Only a few workers <br /> were onsite during the visit. They were working on splicing and installing the permanent steel walers. <br /> Figure 1 shows two portions of the waler being spliced together and ready to be lifted into place along <br /> the 14`h Street length of Segment A. <br /> As shown in Figure 2, one of the splices has some fit-up issues,where it appears the web bolt holes were <br /> slightly offset (1/16" to 1/8")from each other. This has caused some minor bending of the flange splice <br /> plates on each side of the connection. <br />
