Project File M&N#:8057-03
26 February 2015 Site Visit Memorandum
Figures 6 through 8 show damage to several tiebacks.Tiebacks 16 and 38 have damage to the sheathing
where the grout has been exposed (see Figures 6 and 7 respectively). These should be repaired per the
manufacturer recommendations.Tieback 16 also shows some deformation and ovalization indicating
that the grout inside of the sheathing has been crushed (see Figure 8).There is also concern that the
tierod may actually be bent, if this is the case, the tierod should be rejected. We will want to be onsite
to inspect this tie rod after the sheathing and grout has been removed, before the repairs are
performed,to evaluate to condition of the tierod.
AL
l
a
Figure 9:Overall View of Bulkhead
Figure 9 shows an overall view of the bulkhead. The low tide (approx. EL+1.Oft MLLW) exposed the
penetrations in the wall, and the top of the marine backfill. It appears that the sheet pile coating has
been repaired, and sheet pile reinforcement around the wall penetrations have been installed.
'I1, 8
