Budget Remaining -0- Rev. 002-333-2060-131 Additional Required $5100.00 Exp. 031-522-0000-120 DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Washington Traffic Safety Commission is providing funding for Snohomish County law enforcement agencies to conduct high visibility enforcement traffic safety emphasis patrols,in support of Target Zero Teams priorities. The goal is to continue to reduce traffic related deaths and serious injuries by engaging in multijurisdictional,high visibility enforcement patrols in the areas of impaired driving and occupant protection(seat belts). This Memorandum of Understanding sets forth the requirements of the Everett Police Department to participate in.the project and receive the allotted funding. For the term of this agreement, October 1,2012 to September 30,2013,the allocation for the Everett Police Department's participation is $3500.00 for impaired driving enforcement and$1600.00 for seat belt enforcement. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the 2012-2013 Memorandum of Understanding with the Washington Traffic Safety Commission regarding participation in high visibility enforcement traffic safety emphasis patrols.
