Following federal rules the <br /> City of Everett formed a redevelopment authority to process selection of a new user for the Center to benefit <br /> the homeless. Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County was the agency selected to receive the <br /> facility and to create a shelter for its clients. This selection was approved by the federal government and <br /> Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County has taken possession of the property. The City of Everett <br /> is providing$272,821.67 in Community Development Block Grant Funds to Domestic Violence Services of <br /> Snohomish County for their Everyone Deserves to be Safe shelter(formerly known as the Oswald Army <br /> Reserve Center). The City also has set aside$86,233.16 in 2060 Housing Trust Funds for construction costs <br /> related to the shelter. That contract will be provided to City Council for approval at a future Council <br /> meeting. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Community Development Block Grant Agreement with Domestic Violence <br /> Services of Snohomish County for the Everyone Deserves to be Safe shelter. <br />
