Following an extensive evaluation of each firm's <br /> qualifications, staff qualifications,approach to the project,interviews,and proposed cost estimates,IMCO <br /> General Construction received the most number of points by the selection committee. In accordance with the <br /> RCW ch. 39.10 governing the GC/CM process,City staff then negotiated a Preconstruction Services <br /> Contract with IMCO. Accordingly, City staff now recommends that City Council by this action item(1) <br /> formally select IMCO as the GC/CM for the project and(2)authorize the Mayor to sign the Preconstruction <br /> Services Contract with IMCO,which is for$875,141. <br /> WPCF Expansion—Phase C contains two construction phases,a liquid stream expansion and a solids <br /> handling expansion. Over the next 12 months,the design of the first phase of the project will reach 90% <br /> completion. At that point,as required by RCW ch. 39.10,City staff will begin negotiation of a construction <br /> contract with IMCO as general contractor to construct the first phase. Upon completion of negotiation,City <br /> staff will bring that construction contract to City Council for approval. Likewise,when design of the second <br /> phase reaches 90%completion, City staff will negotiate and bring to City Council the construction contract <br /> for the second phase. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> 31 <br />
