As a matter of practice,we estimate the amounts to be used and ask the Assessor to determine and use the correct rates for general property taxes. The ordinance includes the levies for the general fund and EMS. The 2013 property tax ordinance calls for a one percent increase in the regular levy. No increase is antjcipated for the EMS levy because the levy rate it is at its statutory limit. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an Ordinance levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for fiscal year commencing January 1, 2013,on all taxable property,both real and personal, subject to taxation thereon,for the purpose of raising a portion of the revenue to carry on City operations for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter of the City of Everett and the laws of the State of Washington. 37
