Golf fees were the subject
of public review including a public forum at the November 13,2012 regular meeting of the Board of Park
Commissioners.Notice of the public forums included advertisements in The Daily Herald, notification on
the City's website and postings at Legion Memorial Golf Course and Walter E. Hall Golf Course, the Swim
Center,Recreation Office and the Forest Park Administration Building Offices.
The Board of Park Commissioners finalized its recommendation to staff at its November 13,2012 meeting.
Most rates will remain unchanged. There is a slight increase in the adult rate in the highest demand use
times.
There was one attendee at the first public forum and no attendees at the subsequent two public forums. The
golfer in attendance requested the city consider equalizing the rate increase amongst all golfers rather than
just the adult category. Outside of the public forums two golfers contacted the city to request consideration
for the sale of annual passes to those not currently eligible to purchase annual passes. Additionally, one
senior anneal pass holder contacted us to express his support of the rates as proposed.
A brief powerpoint will be presented to review the 2013 rates.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council):
1
