Moore Historic City Hall The naming request for William E. Moore Historic City Hall has been reviewed in accordance with the City's Naming Policy (Resolution No. 6537)and is being referred to the City Council to be processed in accordance with the provisions of the Policy. It appears that the request may be inconsistent with certain provisions of the Policy, but consistent with others. Based upon the following this is being referred to the Council for Council's consideration: (1) language in Section 3 of the Policy which provides that Policy criteria are to be considered as "guidance in making a decision"; (2)this naming request might meet one or more of the criteria, but not all criteria; and (3)the broad discretion Council reserved unto itself in Section 4 authorizing Council, following consideration of public comment, to take such action Council determines appropriate notwithstanding the provisions of the Policy. A copy of the proposal is attached. Also attached is Resolution No. 6537.
