Foss has served the maritime needs in the Puget Sound for more than 125 years—employing 1000's of families during that time. A vibrant and working waterfront is critical in today's global economy and provides a gateway that supports so many businesses and jobs. It makes sense for the City and Port to continue to partner and allow this property to continue in the capacity it was originally designed for and has been operating under. The waterfront has always been a reliable source for union and non-union family wage jobs.The locations for a working maritime operation in the Sound are finite. As this location is already established, it would continue to benefit the Everett community by way of retaining marine focused jobs which in turn drive much needed revenues into the local economy-contributing significant tax revenues to the city, county and state to assist with their public mandates. Foss is a global company and we operate around the world. Our home is in the Puget Sound. We are bullish on the Port of Everett and support their desire to continue their mission as an economic generator for the citizens they serve.
