A copy
of your email is being transmitted to the City Council by this reply.
I do want to provide a couple of clarifications to comments in your email.
You stated: "When the planning department made it's decision for alternative#4, which the Port of Everett endorsed and
has a vested interest in, it became clear that the public process was once again carried out by the letter of the law, but
not followed by the spirit."
Clarification 1: The Planning Commission, not the Planning Department, chose a preferred alternative to recommend to
the City Council. Of the 4 alternatives considered by the Commission, their recommendation is closest to Alternative 4,
but with a number of changes from the original draft of Alternative 4.
Clarification 2: The Port of Everett Commission has endorsed Alternative 1,the"Existing Regulations" or"No Action"
alternative, and not Alternative 4.
Thank you for following the planning process for this important matter, and for providing your comments for
consideration by the City Council.
Allan Giffen
Planning Director
From: Marilyn Boyd [mailto:bubbie50@yahoo.com]
Sent: Monday, December 17, 2012 10:29 AM
To: Planning Email
Subject: Fw: Kimberly Clark
1
