Deb Williams
Prom: Marilyn Boyd [bubbie50@yahoo.com]
Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2012 8:47 AM
To: DL-Council
Subject: Medical Marijuana
Everett City Council,
I am a nurse, yet I watched helplessly as both of my parents struggled with the extreme side effects caused by both
radiation and chemotherapy, during their cancer treatments.
I have no doubts that had medical marijuana been an option for them, they would have used it. The side effects of many
treatments seem worse than the disease. It is unconscionable that you consider making a decision that would adversely
affect medical marijuana patients based on fear, or misconception of the law. Have any of you have witnessed or
experienced the agony of unrelenting pain or nausea? Please put yourselves in the position of patients, their family
members, friends, and the medical community that supports the use of medical marijuana. Do not deny the right of
patients by criminalizing a medication that has proven effectiveness for both chronic health problems and as palliative
treatment for cancer patients.
Thank you,
Marilyn Boyd
1620 Hoyt Avenue
Everett
