6 C[Tel <br /> AMENDMENT NO.1 TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT <br /> AND <br /> CNJA ARCHITECTS <br /> The City and CNJA Architects agree to amend and modify their professional services agreement <br /> dated June 14,2011 (the"Agreement")as follows: <br /> WHEREAS,CNJA Architects and the City of Everett entered into an agreement on June 14, <br /> 2011 ("Agreement")to provide Architectural and Engineering services for the Fire <br /> Administration Complex—Seismic Retrofits;and <br /> WHEREAS,work is not yet complete on the Fire Administration Complex—Seismic Retrofits; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the total amount of compensation stated in the Agreement is insufficient for the <br /> remainder of the project and an additional$18,876 of contract value is needed to complete the <br /> project;and <br /> WHEREAS,the City and CNJA Architects agree to amend their Agreement to increase the <br /> maximum compensation by an additional$18,876 from the current contract level of$275,774 to <br /> $294,650; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the City of Everett and CNJA Architects agree to amend and modify the <br /> previously amended Agreement as follows: <br /> 1. The following work is added to the Scope of Work described in Exhibit A of the <br /> Agreement: <br /> 'a. Additional asbestos abatement oversight by the Kriebel Company,Inc.consisting of daily <br /> on-site observation and air monitoring during the removal of asbestos paint/coatings in <br /> the building located at 2801 Oakes Avenue. <br /> b. Additional structural engineering due to the existing footings at 2801 being deeper than <br /> record drawings indicated. <br /> c. Additional structural engineering as required to install a roof access hatch at 2801 Oakes <br /> Avenue. <br /> d. The design of a fire alarm system for the building located at 2801 Oakes Avenue. <br /> e. Additional architectural,mechanical and electrical design work as required due to <br /> unforeseen conditions discovered during demolition. <br /> f. Additional reimbursable expenses as required by the items listed above. <br /> 2.
