RL(WIC W0/Z 4:9
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION
Date: September 25, 2001
Project: Tomorrow's Hope Childcare
5910 Evergreen Way
Re: Exhaust hood classification
Code: 1997 Uniform Mechanical Code
Sections: 508.1 & 509.2
Interpretation: A Type II hood is accepted for use at the occupancy listed above.
Findings:
➢ The oven/range does not have a griddle or deep-fat fryer.
➢ The double-oven requirement by the owner drove the amount of stove-top burners
above the usual amount previously allowed for this exception. Past history with
residential-ovens has not been satisfactory to the owner due a continual use—
resulting in shorter life spans and higher long-term costs.
➢ The food is prepared by the owners, not contracted out.
➢ A menu has been provided which shows foods that should produce a minimal
amount of grease-laden vapor—see attached.
➢ Removable (cleanable) grease filters have been added to the Type II hood by the
owner.
➢ This allowance of a Type II hood may be revoked in the future if it is found that:
• The information provided in the Menu was in error, or
• The revised Type II hood proves to be inadequate for the use
➢ This allowance is not transferable to another tenant or owner at the same address.
Future tenants/owners must re-apply for a hood permit.
/L
BuilJing Official
CITY OF EVERETT• 3200 Cedar Street 9 Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8856
