ENG/NEER/NG/ PUBL/C 5E/��//CE5 ®EPtlRTi�IENT ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION DATE: March 12, 2008 LOCATION: 8104 Evergreen Way, Mixed Use SUBJECT: Allow A-2 (restaurant)use in two-story unlimited area building ACTION: Acceptance of A-2 use with provisions for exiting, fire access and two hour fire separation from the unlimited area building adjacent tenants. FINDINGS: • Fire truck access to be provided for and maintained from both the front and back entry of the A-2 tenant space • Public exit access and discharge to be provided for and maintained from both the front and back of the A-2 tenant space to the public way. • Two hour fire resistive tested assemblies are to be constructed around the A-2 tenant space where previously not existing. These assemblies are to be continuous from the floor slab to the underside of roof deck, and meet the requirements for a fire barrier per the 2006 International Building Code Section 706, as adopted and modified in the Everett Municipal Code. • The A-2 occupancy is only one story. Building O cial REFERENCE: The K-Mart space is too large to meet the requirements of IBC Table 503 for maximum height and area as a mixed-use building with a restaurant, even with the area modifications for sprinklers and open space. Originally, the unlimited area provisions of IBC 507.4 were used to get this large of a mercantile space built to include a two-story office tenant in 2005 (reference building permit B0504-017).
