Found contractor
not ready. Performed inspection of bearing plates, both the 6" x 6" with one stud and the 12" x 12"
with four studs as per SSK-02 and detail 9 on S1. Found the bearing plates could be eitherwelded
to pin piles or set over piles with a 4" sleeve. The sleeve option was utilized. Noted the 6" x 6"
plates had a 3/4" diameter stud in place of the called out 1/2" diameter. All welds were acceptable.
For the 12" x 12" plates, found 3" studs were used in place of the 3-1/2" per detail 9. Discussed
this with Cory Hitzeman and this was acceptable. Discussed epoxy requirements with contractor—
cleaning and reinforcing bar layout per plans. Contractor is to reschedule epoxy when ready.
To the best of our knowledge, all items inspected today are in conformance with approved plans
and specifications.
Inspector: M.
