Sabrina Fandler
From: Sabrina Fandler
Sent: Thursday, August 06, 2015 4:14 PM
To: 'Nichole Ordona'
Subject: RE: FW: Port of Everett-Dunlap Bulkhead Renovation
Hi Nichole,
For the plans to be in accordance with our codes, we need the catch basin callouts to at least reference COE Standard
Drawing 402. It can be noted as WSDOT TYPE 1 CB PER COE STD DWG 402, but if you just say CB TYPE 1 per COE
Standard Dwg 402 and the title says Type A, it might be confusing. If it is easier, I will allow the key note to be revised to
add a second note stating something on the order of"New CB 1 to be per COE Standard Drawing 402. Use WSDOT Type
1 structure."
Thanks,
Sabrina Fandler, LEED®AP BD+C
City of Everett Public Works Department I Development Technician
3200 Cedar St, Everett, WA 98201
Office: 425-257-8810
Direct: 425-257-7813
Email: SFandler(a)everettwa.gov
From: Nichole Ordona [ma iIto:nicholeo@portofeverett.comj
Sent: Thursday, August 06, 2015 3:21 PM
To: Sabrina Fandler
Subject: FW: FW: Port of Everett-Dunlap Bulkhead Renovation
Sabrina,
I received the below email from our Consultant regarding your comment on the Dunlap drawings. Please let me know if
we still need to make the change regarding the catch basins.
Thanks,
Nichole
From:Jeff Becker [ma ilto:Jeff.Becker@kpff.com]
Sent:Thursday, August 06, 2015 3:10 PM
To: Nichole Ordona <nicholeo@portofeverett.com>
Cc: Bob Riley<bob.riley@kpff.com>;John Klekotka <John K@ portofeverett.com>
Subject: Re: FW: Port of Everett-Dunlap Bulkhead Renovation
Nichole,
Before we revise the plans, I just want to make sure that this is necessary. I recall during the design process that we
discussed internally whether to specify the catch basin as a Type A per City of Everett or a Type 1 per WSDOT. The two
catch basins are essentially the same except for their name (see attached pdf's). Note that the City of Everett Type A
detail states that WSDOT STD PLAN B-5.20 Type 1 is an acceptable substitute. We made the decision to specify the catch
basin as a Type 1 thinking that this would be more familiar to contractors and that it might result in better pricing.
