The department has looked at the photo's and we feel this building is no longer our jurisdiction for inspections of the proposed TI scope of work. The reason for this determination is that the unit has been installed in the same location for a number of years and L&I FAS does not normally have jurisdiction over existing modular buildings on site with a few exceptions. We therefore recommend you contact your local Building Official to obtain permits through their office for the proposed alterations to the building. I am including a section of WAC 296-150F which give the local BO the authority to perform these inspections even thought this building is not a moved building it is the department opinion the section applies. WAC 296-I SOF-0580 Must 1 obtain an insignia for used factory-built structures? All used factory-built housing and commercial structures that are to be installed on a building site in Washington state must have an insignia of approval from the department prior to being installed on a building site or it must be approved by the local building official as a moved building or structure as allowed by section 3410 of the International Building Code.
