For depths greater than 3 feet below <br /> the elevations shown,payment will be as provided in Section 1-04.4. 1 <br /> SPECIFICATION DIVISION 4 1 <br /> Bid Item 12—CRUSHED SURFACING BASE COURSE <br /> Specification Section 4-04 <br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Ton <br /> The unit price per ton for crushed surfacing base course shall be full compensation for all labor, <br /> compaction, material, incidentals, tools, and equipment necessary to furnish, haul, stockpile, 111 <br /> place, grade, and compact imported crushed surfacing base course for the work as required, from <br /> a Contractor supplied source in accordance with the Standard Specifications, Special Provisions <br /> and these specifications. I <br /> The unit price for crushed surfacing base course also includes all costs for controlling moisture <br /> content. <br /> Also included in this bid item shall be the cost of grader work, or any other equipment required <br /> to remove existing soils to attain proper elevations, compaction of native subgrade soils, as well <br /> as all equipment required to spread and compact the crushed surfacing uniformly. <br /> During dry periods, the Engineer may require water sprinkling prior to placement of the crushed <br /> surfacing and while spreading and compacting the material. The cost of such sprinkling shall be <br /> included in the unit price bid for crushed surfacing. I <br /> Measurement for crushed surfacing base course shall be limited to dimensions defined in the <br /> work descriptions for other bid items, shown on the plans, details or Standard Plans or as <br /> otherwise approved by the Engineer. Measurement for Crushed Surfacing Base Course shall be <br /> made for pipe zone bedding for combined sewer pipe, storm drain pipe, side sewer connections <br /> and for the preparation of bases for manhole structures, catch basins and inlets and for all other <br /> Work identified on the Plans, details and COE Standard Drawings.
