Description of Public Service Programs Recommended for <br /> Community Development Block Grant Funding in 2010 <br /> 1. Advocates for the Rights of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (ARC) <br /> Specialized Housing Program <br /> CDBG funds will be used to pay for staffing for this program. The program will provide help <br /> for people with developmental disabilities in three areas: 1) Location and retention of <br /> affordable housing; 2) Education and training and, 3) Alternative living support. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funding $12,000.00 <br /> 2. Assistance League of Everett — Operation School Bell <br /> The goal of this program is to ensure that homeless children and children living in poverty <br /> have adequate school clothing and hygiene supplies. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funding $12,500.00 <br /> 3. Pilchuck Area Council of Camp Fire, Inc. - Camp ships <br /> The funds will provide financial assistance to low income children to attend Camp Killoqua <br /> in the summer of 2010. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funding $7,000.00 <br /> 4. Catholic Community Services - Volunteer Program Services <br /> This program will reimburse the transportation costs of volunteers providing services to <br /> clients residing within the city of Everett. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funding $5,000.00 <br /> 5. Domestic Violence Services (formerly the Center for Battered Women) <br /> Domestic Violence Services provides counseling and shelter for victims of domestic violence. <br /> In September of 1981, the Center, then known as Stop Abuse, opened a fifteen person <br /> capacity shelter for victims and their children. City of Everett and Snohomish County CDBG <br /> funds funded this shelter. <br /> Recommended 2010 CDBG Funding $16,000.00 <br /> 6. Everett Family YMCA - Child Care for Low Income Parents <br /> CDBG funds will be used for the YMCA's child care program to meet the growing need for <br /> infant care for low-income families. <br />
