The house was originally built in 1920 per the County
Assessor's records. The rear porch was the location of the fire ignition and is completely destroyed.
There is some minor fire damage in other locations. Where members show alligatoring which would
retain smoke smells, the members will be replaced in kind. The interior sheetrock has been removed
exposing shiplap on the existing walls.
On the basis of that information I have reviewed the existing structure where fire damage requires
reconstruction of the rear porch and the addition of a beam line down the middle of the house. The
beam line will parallel the existing beam lines and will support the center bearing wall. In addition,
sheetrock has been removed from the interior and will be replaced. As noted on the plans there will be
two locations where the sheetrock will be shear nailed, or OSB will be used to sheet one side of the
wall if the wall cannot be accessed as required.
Engineering calculations are included and the plans have been reviewed, notes added, and stamped.
If you have any further questions or I can be of any further assistance please call me at the above
number.
4
r
v
S9 E?ti
S'° A ia )aciio
Rick Heide, P.E.
President
Attachments
