May 3, 2017 <br /> City/YMCA of Snohomish County potential partnership. <br /> Presented by Paul Kaftanski, Administration <br /> Considerable discussion ensued. <br /> Further information was requested by the Council regarding the following <br /> topics: <br /> • potential impact on usage of Forest Park Swim Center; <br /> • overview of different improvement scenarios for Forest Park Swim <br /> Center; <br /> • demand analysis for pools in a community; <br /> • projected population growth, density targets and population centers; <br /> • plans for pedestrian and transit access improvements and <br /> transportation connections; <br /> • connections with the bicycle and pedestrian trails; <br /> • opportunities and challenges for maintaining two facilities and budget <br /> implications; <br /> • funding scenarios for the project; <br /> • financial impact of all three scenarios; <br /> • availability of funds received by the City in connection with transfer <br /> of the Cemex property and restrictions of applicable to funds; <br /> • operation costs for the pool; <br /> • Everett citizens' access to the pool; <br /> • pool's operation model; <br /> • impact on other park projects; <br /> • examples of similar partnership in different communities. <br /> Debra Bryant, Administration, stated the information will be presented to <br /> Council as soon as possible. <br /> 153 <br />
