Currently there are 2
lanes in each direction. This design option may require widening of the road to add a left
turn lane.
• Access to main lot is from E. Marine View Drive, keeping most of the traffic out of the resi-
dential neighborhood. There are a total of 142 parking stalls: main lot in northeast part of
park = 105 stalls; southwest lot associated with community gardens = 16 stalls; southeast lot
associated with view terrace, arboretum/picnic and athletic fields = 18 stalls.
• The community gardens show 40 garden plots with a community garden shed, common-use
yard, and materials bins. Parking is adjacent to the gardens.
• There are two baseball/softball fields with 300' and 240' outfields with batting cages.
• One 225' x 360' and one 210' x 300' soccer field are shown.
• A full basketball court (or 2 half courts) is located at the east side of the site away from resi-
dential areas and visible from E. Marine View Drive.
• The existing picnic shelter remains in its current location and is closely associated with open
lawn, and convenient to the drop off/turn around.
• The restroom is centrally located and visible from street.
• The play area is located near the restroom and athletic field spectator area, but is distant
from parking, picnic shelter, and open lawn.
• An arboretum with picnic facilities is shown in the southeast corner of site (separated from
the rest of the park by Summit Avenue). Pathway connection to the Summit Ave/E Marine
View Drive intersection. Existing significant trees east of Summit Avenue are preserved.
• A loop perimeter path is shown with an accessible ramp to the view terrace.
• A two-story building with neighborhood meeting space, restrooms and storage on the top
floor, and maintenance/storage below activates the northwest corner of the site. The second
floor is accessible from the adjacent courtyard. Park maintenance equipment would be taken
onto city streets and through the west alley to access the park site.
• A staircase down to the athletic fields aligns with Highland Avenue.
22 City of Everett
