CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> If requested by the City's Representative, the Contractor shall prepare a proposed <br /> schedule revision demonstrating a plan to make up the lag in progress and insure <br /> completion of the Work within the Contract Time. All actions taken to return the Project <br /> to the accepted schedule are at the Contractor's expense. <br /> The Contractor shall pay all costs incurred by the City that result from the Contractor's <br /> action to return the Project to its accepted schedule, including, but not limited to, <br /> additional, overtime, or third party inspection, design and construction management <br /> service costs. Contractor agrees that City shall deduct such charges from payments <br /> due the Contractor. It is further understood and agreed that none of the services <br /> performed by the City's Representative in monitoring, reviewing and reporting Project <br /> status and progress shall relieve the Contractor of responsibility for planning and <br /> managing construction Work in conformance with the construction schedule. <br /> 1-08.4(2) Special Construction Constraints <br /> Phase construction in such a manner that one traffic lane remains open in at all times. <br /> City may approve full block street closures as part of Contractor's Temporary Traffic <br /> Control Plan, as long as no more than two consecutive blocks are closed at a time. <br /> Maintain pedestrian access during full block closures. Temporary roadway and <br /> sidewalk patching shall be completed prior to re-opening a closed block of street. <br /> Pay particular attention to maximum length allowed between sampling points on new <br /> water main in accordance with 7-09.3(24)H FINAL FLUSHING AND TESTING. <br /> Upon completion of pipe installation and trench backfilling to specifications, promptly <br /> restore street, driveway and sidewalk surfaces with Temporary Pavement Patch and <br /> permit public use and access for City inspection activities. Provide 3-inch thick <br /> Temporary Pavement Patch for streets and driveway surfaces and 2-inch thick <br /> Temporary Pavement Patch for sidewalk surfaces or suitable heavy duty steel plates. <br /> Contractor may use the southwest or southeast corner of the Jackson Park parking lot <br /> off Summit Avenue as potential staging area. Contractor shall be responsible for <br /> cleanup and any damages resulting of use of this area during the project. Schedule a <br /> walk through with the Parks Department (425-257-8327) prior to use to designate limits <br /> and document existing conditions. <br /> Parking spaces are normally very limited in most areas of the project and the <br /> Contractor will be required to cooperate with the City in resolving parking issues. In <br /> general, businesses and residents who rely on on-street parking and are displaced by <br /> the construction shall be given priority for the nearest available parking location. The <br /> Contractor's employees may be required to park their personal vehicles away from the <br /> area of construction. <br /> 1-08.5 Time for Completion <br /> Delete all of 1-08.5 and substitute the following: <br /> 1-08.5(1) General <br /> The Contractor shall complete all physical Contract Work within the number of <br /> "working days" stated in the Contract Provisions or as extended by the Engineer <br /> in accordance with Section 1-08.8. Every day will be counted as a "working day" <br /> unless it is a nonworking day or an Engineer determined unworkable day. A <br /> nonworking day is defined as a Saturday, a Sunday, a whole or half day on which <br /> the Contract specifically prohibits Work on the critical path of the Contractor's <br /> approved progress schedule, or one of these holidays: January 1, the third <br /> Monday of January, the third Monday of February, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor <br /> Day, November 11, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas <br /> Water Main Replacement R Division 1 —GENERAL REQUIREMENTS March 1, 2017 <br /> WO No—UP3646 SP—91 <br />
