I 111 1 1-07.23(1),INSTI.GR1 2 Section 1-07.23(1) is supplemented with the following: I 3 4 1-07.23(1).OPT2.GR1 5 (January 2, 2012) I 6 Work Zone Clear Zone 7 The Work Zone Clear Zone (WZCZ) applies during working and 8 nonworking hours. The WZCZ applies only to temporary roadside 9 objects introduced by the Contractor's operations and does not apply 10 to preexisting conditions or permanent Work. Those work operations 11 that are actively in progress shall be in accordance with adopted and I 12 approved Traffic Control Plans, and other contract requirements. 13 14 During nonworking hours equipment or materials shall not be within 15 the WZCZ unless they are protected by permanent guardrail or I 16 temporary concrete barrier. The use of temporary concrete barrier 17 shall be permitted only if the Engineer approves the installation and 18 location. I 19 20 During actual hours of work, unless protected as described above, 21 only materials absolutely necessary to construction shall be within the I 22 WZCZ and only construction vehicles absolutely necessary to 23 construction shall be allowed within the WZCZ or allowed to stop or 24 park on the shoulder of the roadway.
