I 1 1 2 3 4 5 1-08.4.RTF 1 6 1-08.4 Prosecution of Work 7 8 Delete this section in its entirety, and replace it with the following: I9 10 1-08.4 Notice to Proceed and Prosecution of Work 11 (July 23, 2015 APWA GSP) I 12 Notice to Proceed will be given after the contract has been executed and the 13 contract bond and evidence of insurance have been approved and filed by the 14 Contracting Agency. The Contractor shall not commence with the work until the I 15 16 Notice to Proceed has been given by the Engineer. The Contractor shall commence construction activities on the project site within ten days of the Notice 17 to Proceed Date, unless otherwise approved in writing. The Contractor shall 18 diligently pursue the work to the physical completion date within the time 19 specified in the contract. Voluntary shutdown or slowing of operations by the 20 Contractor shall not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility to complete the I 21 work within the time(s) specified in the contract. 22 23 When shown in the Plans, the first order of work shall be the installation of high 24 visibility fencing to delineate all areas for protection or restoration, as described I25 in the Contract. Installation of high visibility fencing adjacent to the roadway shall 26 occur after the placement of all necessary signs and traffic control devices in 27 accordance with 1-10.1(2). Upon construction of the fencing, the Contractor I 28 shall request the Engineer to inspect the fence. No other work shall be 29 performed on the site until the Contracting Agency has accepted the installation 30 of high visibility fencing, as described in the Contract. I 31 32 33 1-08.5 Option A.RTF I 34 1-08.5 Time for Completion 35 (September 12, 2016 APWA GSP, Option A) 36 I 37 Revise the third and fourth paragraphs to read: 38 39 Contract time shall begin on the first working day following the Notice to Proceed 1 40 Date. 41 42 Each working day shall be charged to the contract as it occurs, until the contract 43 work is physically complete. If substantial completion has been granted and all I 44 the authorized working days have been used, charging of working days will 45 cease. Each week the Engineer will provide the Contractor a statement that 46 shows the number of working days: (1) charged to the contract the week before; I 47 (2) specified for the physical completion of the contract; and (3) remaining for 48 the physical completion of the contract.
