I <br /> I <br /> SECTION 2-07.8 (New Section) <br /> STREET CLEANING <br /> 2-07.8(1) Description <br /> This work shall consist of sweeping all construction related roads, and clearing the pavement and <br /> removing debris from the roadway <br /> 2-07.8(2) Construction Requirements <br /> The use of water to perform street sweeping work shall be held to a minimum unless designated otherwise <br /> by the Engineer. The Contractor shall provide self-propelled pickup sweepers and/or vacuum pick up <br /> sweepers for pavement cleaning and debris removal whenever their use is ordered by the Engineer. The <br /> type and number of sweepers are subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br /> Daily sweeping shall continue on all construction related roads at least once per day until said surface is <br /> covered with new HMA. In the event the Contractor sweeper will not be able to work daily on ground <br /> surfaces, the City Forces will provide services, and the Contractor will be billed for each hour of operation. <br /> Sweepers following the grinding work will not be paid by "Street Cleaning". It is incidental to bid item <br /> ' "Planing Bituminous Pavement" (2" deep),per square yard. <br /> The Contractor shall plan the operation to minimize the need for street cleaning. <br /> Debris left in the road or on the side of the road from Planing Bituminous Pavement, will not be paid by <br /> bid item "Street Cleaning". <br /> It is incidental to bid item"Planing Bituminous Pavement" (2" deep),per square yard. <br /> 1 2-07.8(3) Measurement <br /> Street cleaning will be measured by the hour for the actual time consumed in sweeping, pavement <br /> cleaning, and debris removal. No allowance will be made for time consumed in making repairs to the <br /> equipment or for moving the equipment to or from the site on which the street cleaning is ordered. No <br /> separate payment will be made for water required for the normal operation of the pickup sweepers. <br /> 1 2-07.8(4) Payment <br /> Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1-04.1 for the following bid item: <br /> 1.
