Contractor shall immediately dispose of all other debris resulting from the planing operation in a <br /> Contractor-provided site off the right-of-way. <br /> Immediatelyafter grinding, the Contractor must construct an asphalt transition on all traveled ways, <br /> � g� p <br /> wheel chair ramps and exposed manholes, inlets, catch basins, monuments, valve boxes, and other <br /> ' structures on the street, regardless of depth in grinding. Asphalt transition must be removed prior to <br /> overlay. Cast iron structures left higher than 2" must be removed and steel plates installed to protect <br /> the opening and provide a suitable driving surface. <br /> After grinding, sweeping of roadway surfaces shall be immediate and must be overlayed within 72 <br /> hours. Sweeping of roadway surface is required prior to tack placement and paving. <br /> iSweepers following the grinding work will not be paid separately, and is incidental to bid item "Planing <br /> Bituminous Pavement(2"Deep)", per square yard. <br /> For mainline planing operations, the equipment shall have automatic controls, with sensors for either or <br /> both sides of the equipment. The controls shall be capable of sensing the proper grade from an outside <br /> reference line, or a mat-referencing device. The automatic controls shall also be capable of maintaining <br /> the desired transverse slope. The transverse slope controller shall be capable of maintaining the <br /> mandrel at the desired slope (expressed as a percentage) within plus or minus 0.1 percent. <br /> If, after planing a thin veneer layer remains, the contractor shall replace the roadway as directed by the <br /> ' Engineer, paid under "Additional Planing-Bituminous Pavement". Contractor shall adjust their <br /> schedule at no additional cost to the owner. <br /> Pre level course is not anticipated on any of the selected streets. If, however, after planing operations, <br /> driveability issues cannot be resolved with 2" overlay, prelevel will be required as directed and paid for <br /> by "HMA Class 1/2" PG 64-22", per ton. Contractor is strongly encouraged to bid this work to cover <br /> their cost of prelevel operations. <br /> Night Planing- Hewitt Avenue, Hardeson Road, Colby Ave, Lowell-Snohomish River Road,112th <br /> Street SE,41 Street,East Casino Road, Beverly Blvd and Kasch Park Road. <br /> The contractor shall plane Hewitt Avenue, Henderson Road, Colby Ave, Lowell-Snohomish River <br /> Road, 112th Street SE, 41st Street, East Casino Road, Beverly Blvd and Kasch Park Road at night as <br /> described in Section 1-08.0(2) of these Special Provisions. <br /> VACANT SECTION 5-04.3(18) OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS IS REPLACED BY <br /> THE FOLLOWING: <br /> 5-04.3 (18) HMA Night Paving <br /> ' The contractor is responsible for providing advance notice of night paving operations to transit and <br /> emergency response agencies at least 72 hours before beginning this work. Prior to release of this <br /> information, the City must be notified. <br /> Temporary paper joints (ramps) at take offs; tie-ins will be required as directed by the engineer. No <br /> additional compensation will be made to the Contractor.
