8-14.3(1)Excavation <br /> Section 8-14.3 (1) is supplemented with the following: <br /> (******) <br /> It is expected there will be sufficient suitable native material excavated from various <br /> portions of the improvement to fill low areas in the sidewalk subgrade and planting strip <br /> area when needed and no further payment will be allowed for fill material. Where there <br /> is insufficient suitable native material on the project site, the Contractor shall furnish, <br /> place and compact CSTC meeting the requirements of Section 4-04 of these <br /> Specifications. <br /> SECTION 8-20 <br /> ILLUMINATION, TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEMS, INTELLIGENT <br /> TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS AND ELECTRICAL <br /> 8-20.2 Materials <br /> Section 8-20.2 is supplemented with the following: <br /> I <br /> Fiber Optic Cable, Electrical Conductors, and Cable <br /> ' Section 9-29.3 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Detector Loop Wire <br /> Section 9-29.3(2)F is revised to read as follows: <br /> Detector loop wire for round loops shall use 14 AWG stranded copper conductors, and <br /> shall conform to IMSA Specification 51-7, with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) <br /> insulation encased in a polyethylene outer jacket (PE tube). <br /> Loop Detector Lead-In Cable (New Section) <br /> ' Section 9-29.3(2)J is added to read as follows: <br /> Loop Detector Lead-In Cable (1 pair) <br /> ' Two conductor shielded #14 AWG lead-in cable conforming to IMSA Specification <br /> #50-2-1984 shall be installed where shown in the wiring schedule in the Plans. <br /> ' Where existing loop lead-in cable is present, the existing cable shall be pulled out <br /> and disposed of. The new lead-in cable shall be spliced to the loop wires utilizing <br /> Buchanan splice caps and crimper and a scotch cast epoxy 82-B1 splice kit or <br /> approved equal as detailed in City Standard Drawings 806A, B and C. Where the <br /> wiring schedule in the plans calls for more than one loop detector to be spliced <br /> into a single lead-in cable, the loops shall be wired in series.
