City of Everett Human needs Grant
January 1, 2017 through December 31 2017
YWCA of Seattle— King — Snohomish County
Children's Domestic Violence Program
EXHIBIT A— Program Summary
The YWCA's Children's Domestic Violence Program is the only program of its kind in
Washington State and one of two throughout the nation that provides in-home and innovative
domestic violence support and education to children. This is a 10-week in home psycho-
educational program with a skill based curriculum for children and their non-abusive caregivers
who have experienced domestic violence. The program offers advocacy-based counseling
around issues of self-blame, conflict resolution skills building, and safety planning as well as
parenting after the violence. The YWCA's Children's Domestic Violence Program serves
children ages 3 through 18 years. Services are delivered to families by a Children's Domestic
Violence Advocate in the families' homes after they are safe from or have left the abusive
partner.
