Building facades shall employ techniques to <br />recess or project individual windows above the ground floor at <br />least 2 inches from the fagade or incorporate window trim at least <br />4 inches in width that features color that contrasts with the base <br />building color. Exceptions will be considered by the City where <br />buildings employ distinctive window or fagade treatment that adds <br />visual interest to the building. Buildings over six -stories in height <br />are exempt from this requirement to accommodate common <br />construction/ architectural practices for tower structures. <br />Q) Materials. Building materials shall conform to the standards in <br />Appendix A to ensure a greater durability and an attractive <br />appearance. <br />(k) Building entrances. The main public entrances of all buildings <br />must provide weather protection at least 6 feet in depth. <br />Exception: The primary entrance for individual ground -level <br />residential units must provide weather protection at least 3 feet in <br />depth. <br />(1) Building corners. Buildings located on corner properties must <br />incorporate one or more of the following elements to emphasize <br />these highly visible locations: <br />i. Turret. <br />ii. Special balcony or bay window design. <br />iii. Curved corner facade. <br />iv. Sculptural or artistic treatment of building corner. <br />v. Recessed corner entry with distinctive weather protection element. <br />vi.
