Resolution # 3390 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE TO SNOHOMISH <br /> COUNTY FOR CONSERVATION FUTURES FUNDS FOR ACQUISITION OF ENVIRONMENTALLY <br /> SENSITIVE LAND CONTAINING PORTIONS OF THE KASCH PARK BOG. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council acknowledges the need for preservation <br /> of environmentally sensitive areas in the City of Everett; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Conservation Futures Program County <br /> funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing <br /> the cost of land acquisition in environmentally sensitive areas; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett considers it in the best <br /> public interest to acquire environmentally sensitive areas in the City of <br /> Everett; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the Kasch Park bog is a unique <br /> environmental amenity to the City of Everett; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT, WASHINGTON, <br /> 1. That the Mayor be authorized to sign a formal application to Snohomish <br /> County for Conservation Futures funding assistance. <br /> 2. That any fund assistance so received be used in the acquisition of <br /> land adjacent to Kasch Park which includes the Kasch Park bog. <br /> 3. The City of Everett does hereby certify that the City is responsible <br /> to support all non-cash commitments to the Conservation Futures Program should <br /> they not materialize. <br /> 4. That any property acquired under Snohomish County Conservation Futures <br /> Program be used for the preservation of environmentally sensitive areas of <br /> significant resources in the Everett community. <br /> 5. That this resolution becomes part of the formal application to the <br /> Snohomish County Conservation Futures Program. <br /> 6. That adequate notification has been given for public input and that <br /> the Park Board has reviewed and adopted the proposed acquisition of said <br /> property. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, to submit this resolution to Snohomish <br /> County Conservation Futures Program, that the City has officially authorized <br /> application for Conservation Futures funds as outlined herewith. <br /> 0/041. 11 <br /> Councilman Introsucing Resolution <br /> Passed and approved this 01 day ofO jA - , 1990 <br /> Cou .re " sent <br /> dping:141 <br />
