z • RESOLUTION NO. 3387 A RESOLUTION pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code authorizing the demolition and clearing of the house and garage from the property situated at 3919 High St. , Everett, WA. WHEREAS, the City of Everett Planning and Community Development Director has found the house and garage situated on the property located at 3919 High St. to be substandard and a public nuisance pursuant to the City of Everett Uniform Housing Code; and WHEREAS, the Everett City Council finds that the Planning and Community Development Director issued a Notice and Order requiring the owner of the property to repair or demolish and remove the buildings from the property; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the repair or demolition of the buildings has not taken place as was required in the Order; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Order issued by the Planning and Community Development Director was properly served on the owner of the property in question; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Planning and Community Development Director has the authority to recommend this action pursuant to the Uniform Housing Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owner has been given notice of this Council meeting; and WHEREAS, the City Council, upon due consideration, deems it in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the public that a Resolution be adopted requiring the demolition of the buildings; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: 1. That the house and garage located at 3919 High Street, Everett, Washington, which is legally described as follows, contains conditions which endanger the life, limb, health, property, safety and welfare of the public: Lots 30 and 31, Block 5, Smyth Land Company's 2nd Addition to Everett, as per plat recorded in Volume 4 of Plats, page 25, records of Snohomish County; Situate in the City of Everett, County of Snohomish, State of Washington. 2. That the above-described property is hereby declared to be substandard as is defined in the Uniform Housing Code. 3. That the Planning and Community Development Director is hereby authorized to have the buildings demolished and cleared from said premises. 4. That all expenses incurred by the City as a result of said demolition work shall be made a personal obligation of the property owner or an assessment against the property, in which case the City of Everett shall ask the County Treasurer to enter the amount of the assessment upon the tax rolls against the property and collect the same with regular property taxes and with interest at such rate as provided for in RCW 84.56.020.
