z • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> 3387 <br /> A RESOLUTION pursuant to the Uniform <br /> Housing Code authorizing the demolition and <br /> clearing of the house and garage from the <br /> property situated at 3919 High St. , Everett, WA. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Planning and Community Development <br /> Director has found the house and garage situated on the property located at <br /> 3919 High St. to be substandard and a public nuisance pursuant to the City <br /> of Everett Uniform Housing Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council finds that the Planning and <br /> Community Development Director issued a Notice and Order requiring the owner <br /> of the property to repair or demolish and remove the buildings from the <br /> property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the repair or demolition of the <br /> buildings has not taken place as was required in the Order; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Order issued by the Planning <br /> and Community Development Director was properly served on the owner of the <br /> property in question; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Planning and Community <br /> Development Director has the authority to recommend this action pursuant to <br /> the Uniform Housing Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owner has been given notice <br /> of this Council meeting; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, upon due consideration, deems it in the <br /> best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the public that a <br /> Resolution be adopted requiring the demolition of the buildings; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EVERETT: <br /> 1. That the house and garage located at 3919 High Street, Everett, <br /> Washington, which is legally described as follows, contains <br /> conditions which endanger the life, limb, health, property, safety <br /> and welfare of the public: <br /> Lots 30 and 31, Block 5, Smyth Land Company's 2nd Addition to <br /> Everett, as per plat recorded in Volume 4 of Plats, page 25, records <br /> of Snohomish County; <br /> Situate in the City of Everett, County of Snohomish, State of <br /> Washington. <br /> 2. That the above-described property is hereby declared to be <br /> substandard as is defined in the Uniform Housing Code. <br /> 3. That the Planning and Community Development Director is hereby <br /> authorized to have the buildings demolished and cleared from said <br /> premises. <br /> 4. That all expenses incurred by the City as a result of said demolition <br /> work shall be made a personal obligation of the property owner or an <br /> assessment against the property, in which case the City of Everett <br /> shall ask the County Treasurer to enter the amount of the assessment <br /> upon the tax rolls against the property and collect the same with <br /> regular property taxes and with interest at such rate as provided for <br /> in RCW 84.56.020. <br />
