1 RESOLUTION NO. 3382 <br /> 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting Books for Kids. <br /> 4 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that illiteracy in our Country is a <br /> significant problem; and <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a program entitled Books for Kids <br /> 7A <br /> is designed to foster good reading habits for at-risk youngsters in an <br /> 8 effort to combat the illiteracy problem; and <br /> 9 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Books for Kids is a program which <br /> 10 provides at-risk youngsters with new books which become their own; and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that by providing these youngsters with <br /> 12 their very own books that the Books for Kids program will help motivate <br /> 13 these children to read; <br /> 14 NOW, THEREFORE, THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE that the <br /> Ir' I Books for Kids program is a worthwhile and important program and encourages <br /> 1(' the citizens of Everett to provide their support for this program. <br /> 17 <br /> 18FACE0114 i` f/ <br /> ID Council person Intro. -ung 'e• o ution <br /> 20 PASSED and APPROVED this /f day of (_;C.iUe , 1990. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 —_._.. --e-��%_ <br /> •� 'resi .e <br /> 23 <br /> 24 (0155) <br /> 25 <br /> 26 <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> 2J <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
