RESOLUTION NO. 3356 1 2 A RESOLUTION encouraging annexation of Paine Field to the City of 3 Everett. 4 WHEREAS, major facilities for assembly of the Boeing 747, Boeing 767, 5 and related advanced technology commercial aircraft are located in the City 6 of Everett; and 7 WHEREAS, the Boeing aircraft assembly facilities have seeded expansion 8 of modern manufacturing and industrial facilities in Southwest Everett and 9 the surrounding area; and 10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that said 11 aircraft facilities and industrial-commercial facilities in the Paine Field 12 area have served the City and Snohomish County for over 20 years as an 13 economic base for jobs for our local residents, and as a tax base for public 14 services and facilities serving City and County businesses and residents; and 15 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City and County have mutual 16 interests for the long-term future planning of Paine Field and the Paine 17 Field area which would be best served by annexation of Paine Field and 18 County property in the surrounding area to the City of Everett and joint 19 planning thereof; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 21 EVERETT that Snohomish County Council and the County Executive are invited 22 and encouraged to submit a petition for annexation of Paine Field and all 23 adjacent County-owned property, including the BOMARC site, into the City of 24 Everett.
