RESOLUTION # 6330,_ <br /> RESOLUTION for expenditure of Human Needs <br /> funding <br /> WHEREAS, the City allocates funding each year of monies to <br /> be used for human services programs ; and <br /> WHEREAS, there exists in the community a need for monies to <br /> supplement human services programs ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Human Needs Advisory Committee, formed to make <br /> recommendations to the City Council for allocation of these <br /> funds annually, has voted to recommend funding as listed below: <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL <br /> that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with each of <br /> the below listed agencies in the amount specified for the <br /> purpose stated : <br /> 1 ) ADVOCATES FOR THE RIGHTS OF CITIZENS WITH <br /> DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY <br /> (ARC) - Money Management/Representative Payee <br /> Program $ 5 , 000 <br /> Medical /dental care $ 3 , 500 <br /> 2 ) PREGNANCY AID OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY - fund <br /> prenatal vitamins , diapers , formula, telephone <br /> help- line, parenting education, emergency needs , <br /> and operating expenses $ 2 , 500 <br /> 3 ) DEACONESS CHILDREN'S SERVICES - Parents Anonymous <br /> program which seeks to prevent incidents of child <br /> abuse and neglect among high risk parents $ 2 , 500 <br /> Snohomish County Action Alliance on School Age <br /> Pregnancy and Parenting--Comprehensive Teen <br /> Pregnancy Prevention and Education Project $ 4 , 000 <br /> 4 ) SHERWOOD LEARNING CENTER - Exceptional Children' s <br /> Early Learning (ExCe1 : ) Family support services $ 5 , 000 <br /> 5) PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER - <br /> continue Child Victim Assistance Project in <br /> cooperation with the Everett Police Department <br /> which provides a Child Interview Specialist to <br /> assist with investigations $ 7 , 000 <br /> 6 ) GENERAL HOSPITAL PRENATAL CARE CENTER - provide <br /> scholarships to classes and educational materials <br /> on subjects relevant to improved pregnancy <br /> outcome $ 5 , 000 <br /> 7 ) PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL CHILDREN' S CENTER - parent <br /> and family support by Social Work and Clinical <br /> Nurse Specialists for children who have declared <br /> developmental disabilities $ 10 , 000 <br /> 8 ) SALVATION ARMY- Emergency Shelter $ 10 , 000 <br /> Prescription medications $ 1 , 000 <br /> 9 ) SNOHOMISH-ISLAND COUNTIES CHAPTER AMERICAN RED <br /> CROSS - emergency shelter for homeless families $ 5 , 000 <br />
