' 00009 <br /> 3tig <br /> A RESOLUTION designating the new <br /> Snohomish riverfront park as Rotary Park <br /> WHEREAS, a parcel of Snohomish riverfront property, commonly known as the <br /> Maltby Tank and Barge property was recently purchased for Park land, partially <br /> funded by a grant from the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Rotary Club has committed a cash contribution of <br /> $50,000 towards development of the new park, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Rotary Club has committed future resources of its <br /> membership to assist in the development of this park by participating in labor <br /> projects, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the function of the Parks and Recreation Board to recommend <br /> names for parks to the City council for their approval, and <br /> WHEREAS, it has been suggested to the Parks and Recreation Board that the <br /> new park be named Rotary Park in recognition of the substantial commitment to <br /> development of this park by the Everett Rotary Club, and <br /> WHEREAS, following a public hearing held by the Everett Parks and <br /> Recreation Board at their February 28, 1989, meeting, the Board recommended <br /> that the new park be named Rotary Park, <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Everett City Council does accept <br /> the recommendation of the Everett Parks and Recreation Board and hereby <br /> declares the newly acquired Snohomish riverfront park to known hereafter as <br /> Rotary Park. p_ <br /> ounc iem►•r nt ..uc ng ' - ution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this L day of .g-p , 1989. <br /> . 044‹: <br /> Council resident <br /> 1511A <br /> 000044 <br />
