RESOLUTION NO. \:522/417 <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting efforts to develop a strategic <br /> plan for the economic development future of Everett <br /> and Snohomish County. <br /> WHEREAS, a vibrant economy is an essential ingredient in the overall <br /> quality of life for a City, and: <br /> WHEREAS, a vibrant economy is manifested by high employment and <br /> general growth and stability within the business community, and: <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett supports responsible efforts directed <br /> at developing and maintaining a strong economy for its citizens, and; <br /> WHEREAS, due to the many changes that effect economies over time and <br /> because of the long preparation needed for business stability and <br /> growth, it is necessary for governments and the private sector to <br /> plan and direct activities now towards the future to insure <br /> long-term economic health, and: <br /> WHEREAS, an effort has been initiated, under the coordination of the <br /> Snohomish County Economic Development Council to bring together <br /> individuals from the private sector and various governments in <br /> Snohomish County to develop a long-term strategic economic plan and <br /> vision for all of Snohomish County, including Everett, called "2010 <br /> Futures" ; <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Everett encourages , <br /> endorses and will actively support the efforts currently being led <br /> by the Snohomish County Economic Development Council to develop the <br /> "2010 Futures" plan outlining a long-term strategic plan and <br /> visionary perspective for the development of a strong economy for <br /> Everett and Snohomish County. <br /> 6 ifilP,,,-e -_)„,,,J— <br /> Councilmember introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this (Vday of June, 1988 . <br /> Council -resid nt <br />
