COMMUNITY TRANSIT RESOLUTION # Q-firg <br /> CITY OF EVERETT RESOLUTION # 30/7 <br /> SNO-TRAN RESOLUTION # 5u-)- <br /> The <br /> 1 ')- <br /> The City of Everett <br /> The Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corp. <br /> The Snohomish County Transportation Authority <br /> JOINT RESOLUTION <br /> WHEREAS ; The City of Everett through its Transit Department <br /> (Everett Transit ) and the Snohomish County Public Transportation <br /> Benefit Area Corporation (PTBA, dba Community Transit) and the <br /> Snohomish County Transportation Authority (SNO-TRAN) have a <br /> common interest in quality public transportation to serve the <br /> residents of their respective jurisdictions ; and <br /> WHEREAS ; The three jurisdictions have worked jointly, through a <br /> compact, to plan for improved transit services for the area' s <br /> disabled residents ; and <br /> WHEREAS ; Community Transit and Everett Transit have developed a <br /> set of coordinated operating policies to improve access to their <br /> transit services ; and <br /> WHEREAS ; Since 1984 , the three jurisdictions have been joint <br /> sponsors of the North Corridor Extension Project to bring high <br /> capacity transit to Snohomish County; and <br /> WHEREAS ; The three jurisdictions were signators to "The 1-5 <br /> Corridor Right-of-Way Reservation Agreement for High Capacity <br /> Transit in Snohomish County" that was signed January 21 , 1988 ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS ; There is a need to take the next steps toward the <br /> development of the high capacity transit system and particularly <br /> its funding; and <br /> WHEREAS ; The three jurisdictions are embarking on comprehensive <br /> planning efforts to establish the direction for public <br /> transportation in Everett, the PTBA and the county into the 21st <br /> century. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Everett, the <br /> Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation, <br /> and the Snohomish County Transportation Authority shall : <br /> 1 . Coordinate their planning efforts to achieve commonly agreed <br /> upon goals as well as to be mutually supportive of each <br /> jurisdiction' s own goals and program directions; <br />
