COMMUNITY TRANSIT RESOLUTION # Q-firg CITY OF EVERETT RESOLUTION # 30/7 SNO-TRAN RESOLUTION # 5u-)- The 1 ')- The City of Everett The Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corp. The Snohomish County Transportation Authority JOINT RESOLUTION WHEREAS ; The City of Everett through its Transit Department (Everett Transit ) and the Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation (PTBA, dba Community Transit) and the Snohomish County Transportation Authority (SNO-TRAN) have a common interest in quality public transportation to serve the residents of their respective jurisdictions ; and WHEREAS ; The three jurisdictions have worked jointly, through a compact, to plan for improved transit services for the area' s disabled residents ; and WHEREAS ; Community Transit and Everett Transit have developed a set of coordinated operating policies to improve access to their transit services ; and WHEREAS ; Since 1984 , the three jurisdictions have been joint sponsors of the North Corridor Extension Project to bring high capacity transit to Snohomish County; and WHEREAS ; The three jurisdictions were signators to "The 1-5 Corridor Right-of-Way Reservation Agreement for High Capacity Transit in Snohomish County" that was signed January 21 , 1988 ; and WHEREAS ; There is a need to take the next steps toward the development of the high capacity transit system and particularly its funding; and WHEREAS ; The three jurisdictions are embarking on comprehensive planning efforts to establish the direction for public transportation in Everett, the PTBA and the county into the 21st century. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Everett, the Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation, and the Snohomish County Transportation Authority shall : 1 . Coordinate their planning efforts to achieve commonly agreed upon goals as well as to be mutually supportive of each jurisdiction' s own goals and program directions;
