The Preserve is located in the Twin Creeks neighborhood,
approximately 1/4 mile north of Thornton A. Sullivan (TAS) Park and adjacent to the west side of the
Interurban Trail. Adoption of a resolution for the Preserve is the next step required of the City to satisfy
federal and state requirements regarding the conversion of park property at TAS Park for non -park purposes.
Once adopted, design of the master plan recommendations will be finalized. Improvements must be
constructed by June 26, 2016, per Amendment No. 4 to the TAS Park funding agreement, approved by City
Council on September 11, 2013. The improvements include benches, picnic area, trash receptacle, wetland
boardwalk, approximately 1,600 linear foot trail system, an ADA accessible trial loop and entrance trailhead.
The Master Plan suirmiarizes the public dialogue and actions regarding this project since 1979 when the City
entered into air agreement with the State of Washington to help fund improvements at TAS Park. The Board
of Park Conuuissioners voted to recoluinend diaster plan approval to the City Council at its July l4, 2015
ileetlilc. ^III-_- wluateQ DetelTllll'_at'on o '.01-i°11IiLCa1C _-Pr 1J--_7 -S ISSUeQ Oh Rt7Le ! ,
