RESOLUTION # /,;,7 /e/ <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE TO THE NATIONAL <br /> PARK SERVICE FOR A MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM GRANT <br /> WHEREAS, the National Park Service offers 50% matching grants for planning <br /> purposes and; <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Parks & Recreation Department has a strong <br /> need to inventory all of its facilities, grounds, horticulture and forestry <br /> and place this into a computerized maintenance management system and; <br /> WHEREAS, such a maintenance management system would offer extreme <br /> advantages, both in inventory control, improved scheduling of equipment and <br /> personnel, and better tracking of maintenance services and; <br /> WHEREAS, such a maintenance management system can be acquired, the <br /> inventory conducted maintenance standards set within the limit of the $45,000 <br /> available grant monies; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT, WASHINGTON, <br /> 1. That the Mayor be authorized to sign a formal application to the National <br /> Park Service for funding assistance. <br /> 2. That any funding assistance so received be used to develop a maintenance <br /> management system as outlined in the grant application. <br /> 3. That $12,500 be authorized and appropriated from the 1987 City of Everett <br /> Parks and Recreation Department budget as the local cash share for the <br /> Maintenance Management System. <br /> 4. That $10,000 of current 1987 salary expenses be committed to this project <br /> by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Computer Services Division as <br /> the remaining local share of the Maintenance Management System. <br /> 5. That $22,500 be authorized and appropriated as a source of revenue and a <br /> form of expense in the 1987 City of Everett Parks and Recreation Department <br /> budget, Program 857, from National Park Service matching funds for the <br /> Maintenance Management System. <br /> 6. That the City of Everett does hereby certify that the City is responsible <br /> to support all non-cash commitments to the local share should they not <br /> materialize. <br /> 7. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the National <br /> Park Service. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to submit this resolution to the <br /> National Park Service, that the City has officially obligated funding sources <br /> to meet the grant match by using funds of the City of Ev,erett as outlined <br /> herewith. /' <br /> C6G5nan roducing Resolution <br /> Passed and approved this day I) , �, � 987 <br /> uncil 'reside 't <br /> 0723S/co <br />
