RESOLUTIONaZygj <br /> A Resolution Concerning Storm <br /> Drainage and Water Quality in the <br /> City of Everett <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Planning Commission through its <br /> review of plans and land use actions has become aware of citizen' s <br /> concerns about certain adverse effects from storm water runoff in <br /> South Everett ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council adopted a storm drainage <br /> ordinance in 1978 and amended that ordinance in 1980 ; and <br /> WHEREAS , in 1982 the Everett City Council adopted the South <br /> Everett Drainage Basins Plan which called for regulations and <br /> capital improvements to manage drainage in the several South Everett <br /> drainage basins , and recommended that the drainage basins plan be <br /> reviewed and updated after five (5) years from its adoption ; and <br /> wHEREAS , the City anticipates substantial development <br /> throughout the community which will result in additional storm water <br /> runoff entering the existing storm water systems; <br /> NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Everett Planning <br /> Commission urges the City Council to take the following actions : <br /> 1. The City should immediately initiate a review and <br /> update of the South Everett Drainage Basins Plan . <br /> 2. In conjunction with the review and update of the South <br /> Everett Drainage Basins Plan , City Staff should <br /> initiate a review of the City' s entire storm drainage <br /> regulatory ordinances to determine if more stringent <br /> and extensive regulation of storm drainage is <br /> appropriate. <br /> 3. City Staff should initiate a special study and its <br /> implementation , as a first priority , in regards to the <br /> storm water quantity and quality in Powder Mill Gulch. <br /> C. i man ntroducin Res• u ion <br /> Passed and approved this 1st day( <br /> ay July, 1987. <br /> fit( (1 <br /> 7 <br /> President <br />
